Phone Dialer is a component of Microsoft Windows which allows the user to take phone calls by connecting a modem to the PC. It can be launched by invoking the dialer.exe
application within the System32
directory.
The original Phone Dialer was replaced in Windows 2000 with a new version developed by Active Voice, although the original one was later reinstated in Windows Server 2003 as a result of possible licensing issues.
