5048[edit source]

Please don't move Windows:Vista:5048:winmain_idx02 to the Longhorn namespace. Windows:Longhorn is for pre-reset builds, which 5048 surely isn't. Thanks. --AlphaBeta (talk) 10:43, 27 October 2014 (GMT)

Thank you[edit source]

Thank you for helping revert the war that is happening now on BetaWiki. I am also doing my job of cleaning this war away from the betawiki. --InfinityPlus1 (talk) 08:20, 30 January 2015 (GMT)

Can you block 5098 and Beta Tester99? --InfinityPlus1 (talk) 09:46, 30 January 2015 (GMT)

Yes, I will ASAP.--Ovctvct (talk) 09:46, 30 January 2015 (GMT)

Blackcomb is Windows 7[edit source]

Hello the Project Blackcomb are a Windows 7 see in the wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7 Fix it Please. --Leandro2905 (talk) 22:34, 1 April 2018 (BST)

Yes, Blackcomb eventually became Windows 7. However, the original Blackcomb didn't have much in common with Windows 7 and equating the two is equivalent to calling a person a scientist just because they wanted to study science ages ago. The Whistler-era "Blackcomb" project had much larger ambitions than Windows 7 and many things that we saw during the development of Longhorn (i.e. WinFS), pre-reset or post-reset, were actually originally planned to be included in Blackcomb. Presumably as Vista development went on, Blackcomb eventually became just a synonym for the following Windows version, which turned out to be Windows 7. --AlphaBeta (talk) 05:22, 2 April 2018 (BST)

Safe to shutdown screen[edit source]

Hi.

I have a question about Longhorn Post Reset Build. On Post Reset BetaWiki builds page, there is write <<Safe to shutdown screen (group policy only). what I must do to get the safe to shutdown screen on Longhorn Post Reset Builds ?

2A02:C207:3002:8283:0:0:0:1 14:15, 27 August 2018 (BST)

Firstly, Ovctvct retired so don't contact him. Secondly, you have to open the Group Policy Manager, and find the option to tell the computer not to turn off after shutdown. BF10 (talk) 14:28, 27 August 2018 (BST)
@BF10 What is the path to get this option ?

2A02:C207:3002:8283:0:0:0:1 14:37, 27 August 2018 (BST)

Set the registry value of HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT::DontPowerOffAfterShutdown to 1. If it doesn't exist make one. BF10 (talk) 14:54, 27 August 2018 (BST)

Block JHJHJHHKHHKIHJDJH[edit source]

An user called JHJHJHHKHHKIHJDJH has reuploaded Win7Build6519 Desktop.png two times in a row in different names. Block him due to its username. MarioMario456 (talk) 15:44, 21 October 2018 (BST)

That happened back in April, and duplicate files are annoying but as bad as other issues like vandalism. He also never came back after that because he was simply having problems adding the image (which I added myself). Also the username having random letters doesn't always mean it is a bad one. BF10 (talk) 20:16, 21 October 2018 (BST)
Deleted the duplicates. --Ovctvct (talk) 11:24, 22 October 2018 (BST)
What is this, North Korea? We are never going to block anybody over their username as long as it's appropriate, does not contain swearing and does not flame other person. --AlphaBeta (talk) 22:00, 26 October 2018 (BST)

Delete HallOfShame:Windows 11 page[edit source]

Please delete HallOfShame:Windows 11 page! It's fake! --Yue Ling (talk) 02:58, 1 February 2019 (UTC)

That is the whole point of the Hall of Shame. To show fakes clearly made to be put on BetaWiki and other crappy articles. —LilShootDawg (talk) 03:02, 1 February 2019 (UTC)
But what about protecting that page? LarryTN7722 (talk) 04:40, 1 February 2019 (UTC)
That has nothing to do with it. He is wanting for the admins to delete it cause he can’t figure out what the Hall of Shane is. —LilShootDawg (talk) 10:37, 1 February 2019 (UTC)

A new Windows NT 8.1 sock[edit source]

A user by the IP of 176.88.101.202 is adding false info into pages and evading blocks. I think he/she is using a proxy or VPN to change his IP. Like I mentioned in the heading, it is a sock of the blocked Windows NT 8.1. I have undone some of his/her edits. Please can you block him? --2.28.175.216 17:19, 21 March 2019 (UTC) EDIT: Already blocked
